Elf Bar just released their latest refillable vape kit: the Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition. Backed by a large 1200mAh battery with fast-charging capability, dual power modes, and easy-refill pods with dual mesh coils, this kit is sure to delight. Let’s take a closer look!
Following the rousing success of the original Elf Bar ELFX pod kit—a basic and budget-friendly refillable kit designed to transition Elf Bar’s disposable consumers into Elf Bar Elfliq vapers—the all-new ELFX Pro Classic Edition offers a more customisable vape kit for intermediate users seeking more personalisation.
I was lucky enough to get to try the all-new Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition for myself, so without further ado, let’s dive into my impressions of the device!
The Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition is designed for both Mouth-To-Lung (MTL) and Restricted Direct-To-Lung (RDTL) vaping. It boasts a large 1200mAh battery with fast charging, plus adjustable power output up to 45W. The device features dual modes—Eco and Turbo—allowing you to choose between extended battery life and enhanced performance.

Elf Bar has a finger in every pie: once exclusively a disposable vape manufacturer, Elf Bar has branched out into the realms of E-Liquid (with their Elf Bar Elfliq range) and refillable pod vapes.
Their original refillable vape was the Elf Bar ELFX, which was a relatively simple and straightforward inhale-activated, buttonless device designed for disposable vapers looking to transition toward a more cost-effective and eco-conscious alternative.
Now, they’ve debuted the Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition, which offers more customisation options, including precise airflow control, adjustable wattage, and multiple power modes.
Needless to say, I was stoked to have the opportunity to try this vape out for myself. I was mostly curious to see how a company built on simple and accessible devices would fare when creating a more robust and versatile device—and frankly, I wasn’t disappointed, though there are some niggling things that show how much Elf Bar has to learn from other vape kit manufacturers.
The Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition is a sleek and sturdy device with a surprisingly durable build quality. I really wasn’t expecting such a tank when I unboxed it.
I opted for the Cowboy Brown Leather finish. It matches everything I own.
The front of the device houses the 0.96” colour screen, with a strip of metal situated off-centre down the front. The metal strip is emblazoned with the Elf Bar logo.
On the back of the device, you’ll see the Elf Bar motto stamped into the vegan leather grip: “Make it elf, enjoy yourself.” The metal strip on the back has the model name on it, too: ELFX Pro Classic.

The bottom of the device has the ELFX Logo, the battery rating (1200mAh), and curiously, 4 holes that seemingly have no purpose. They’re not airflow holes, as far as I can tell. This is one of several redundancies I found with the ELFX Pro Classic.
On one side of the device, you’ll find the airflow adjustment toggle and the USB Type-C port, and on the other side, “Designed by ELFBAR” is stamped into the vegan leather below the device’s two buttons: the function button and the fire button.

The vegan leather grip on the device is really nice and comfortable, and has a very luxurious feel in your hand. And at just under 75g, the vape has a nice, sturdy heft to it.
I’m not jazzed about there being two buttons—I don’t really see the point of having two when we really don’t need a fire button on a draw-activated vape—but I’ll get to this in later sections.
All in all, I’m impressed with the weight, feel, and durability of the device, and I’m absolutely in love with the colour I chose. At long last, I get to have a brown leather(-ish) vape!
The Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic is Elf Bar’s first refillable vape with an interface, so I was curious to see how the manufacturer would incorporate popular features into their new kit.
Interestingly, I found a few superfluous features (like the aforementioned purposeless holes on the bottom of the device) and some other kinks that Elf Bar would do well to consider in future iterations of this series.
I really enjoyed using this kit, though a majority of my qualms are with the interface. I have some gripes, but there are also some highlights, so let’s take a closer look!

Let’s start off with a major pro for the ELFX Pro Classic Edition: the airflow. The vape offers an adjustable airflow toggle that allows you to fine-tune your draw from a tight, disposable-style single hole all the way up to a loose RDTL draw with 3 open airflow holes.
While I’m partial to a tighter RDTL inhale, the pods for this device are quite low-resistance (0.6Ω and 0.8Ω), so I feel like the tightest option would cause a lot of leaking and/or flooding of the pods if used consistently. Pods with lower resistances like these require more airflow, otherwise they’ll get backed up with liquid—but I digress.

The airflow adjustment switch is fluid and sturdy, though it sticks out a bit from the side of the device, so it may well shift in transit. I haven’t experienced this yet, but I can easily see this happening.
First and foremost, Elf Bar, along with every other retail website I checked, advertises this vape as having a touch screen. I suppose it is a touchscreen insofar as it has a screen that you can touch. However, there are no touch functions on the screen. This is very odd. It’s not anywhere on the packaging or in the user manual, and yet, it’s advertised as one of the main selling points online.

The screen shows all of the pertinent information: your current power mode, wattage, the battery level, the length of your last puff, your puff count, the current resistance of your pod, and the word “SMART,” which I suppose is meant to indicate the smart coil detection (the vape senses which pod you’re using and sets the wattage accordingly).
If this sounds like a lot of information to have on one screen, you’re right. Some of it is too small to read—namely, everything but the wattage and power mode.
One thing that really, really irks me about this interface is the battery display. When I first unboxed the vape, I saw that it displays the battery as a percentage—which was a promising start. I was excited to see another vape that measures the battery in 1% increments, which is a much better system than the 3-light level nonsense on smaller, cheaper vapes.
Except the ELFX Pro Classic doesn’t do this. The battery is measured in 10% increments. The percentage display is a bit of a trick in that way, and I was disappointed by this. I absolutely love when a vape shows the battery in 1% increments—but maybe that’s just me. I felt duped.
The animations are quite cool when you’re switching between Eco and Turbo modes. When you set it to Eco, you get an animation of one volcano erupting. And for Turbo mode—you guessed it—there’s two volcanoes erupting. These animations also play while you puff.

Strangely, the screen stays on for a long time—much longer than needed between puffs. It stays on for about 30 seconds after being awoken, while my Vaporesso XROS Pro screen only stays on for about 8 seconds.
Don’t get me wrong—it’s great for a reviewer like me trying to get a good picture of the interface, but outside of that one very hyper-specific instance, I feel like it’s just a drain on the battery.
All in all, I think Elf Bar can learn a thing or two about screens from rivals like OXVA and Vaporesso who’ve downright mastered the art of creating a tiny screen that displays all the pertinent information in a legible way.
Right off the bat, we see a redundant feature here: why offer both adjustable wattage and power modes? Sure, this means the vape suits both casual vapers and intermediate ones, but they essentially do the same thing.
Eco mode brings you to the lower end of the recommended wattage range, while Turbo mode hits the maximum recommended wattage. As a pro-level vaper, I was more than happy to just use the power modes—they felt versatile enough that I didn’t need to adjust the wattage.
It’s almost as if the makers at Elf Bar were thinking about the reviews for this vape and suspected someone would complain that the wattage wasn’t adjustable despite the multiple buttons and promising screen.
I really, really enjoyed the two power modes. Adding adjustable wattage on top of this really wasn’t necessary.
Next up on the list of redundant features is the two-button system. Why are there 2 buttons?
Frankly, in this day and age—with inhale activation being the default as well as the preferred activation style for a majority of MTL vapers—why do we even need a fire button?
Oh, you can lock it, of course. But locking the fire button doesn’t lock the function button, which is all the more frustrating. One press of the function button swaps your power modes, which can easily happen in your pocket in transit, so I would’ve liked to lock that feature altogether.
Honestly, it makes me wary of carrying this vape around when traveling, as I’ve had a few issues in the past with vapes going off in my bag of their own volition. I nearly set off the fire alarms at Olympia London once because of this, and I needed a professional cleaning to get the burnt chemical smell out of my bag, so I’m keen to avoid the same situation in the future.
There’s a lot of choreography to memorise with all the various button clicks on this vape—beyond the simple 5 clicks to turn it on or off—but thankfully, simply pressing and holding the function button allows you to access all the same settings.
Once again, there’s a redundant feature here—why bother memorising all the “3 clicks for unlock, 2 clicks for wattage” when you can just press and hold the function button to bring up the menu? I would much rather just use the menu.
To be honest, it feels like the people at Elf Bar all got together when making this vape kit and asked, “Okay, guys, what bells and whistles can we add to this thing to make it seem fancier?” And, of course, the result is something altogether less user friendly, clunkier, and more confusing to operate.

The battery is where the Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition really shines (misleading battery display aside).
The large 1200mAh battery is enough to last most vapers at least 2 days, and heavy vapers like me will get a whole day of use out of it, for sure.
Plus, it has 2A USB Type-C fast charging, which means that recharges only take about half an hour. Nice!
Oddly enough, Elf Bar doesn’t advertise fast charging as a feature. I only discovered this after combing through the user manual. Fast charging is definitely a selling point!
I was really, really pleased with the battery life and charging on this vape. While I would’ve liked to see an estimated charging time or something of that nature (like on the Vaporesso XROS Pro), that’s not a deal-breaker—and truthfully, you probably wouldn’t be able to read it anyway.
The ELFX Pro Classic Edition comes with two Elf Bar ELFX pods, each holding up to 2ml of E-Liquid and housing built-in QUAQ dual mesh coils. The vape comes with one of each available pod included: the 0.6Ω (ohm) and the 0.8Ω (ohm) resistances. The pods are the same as the ones used in the original ELFX device.
For casual vapers and those new to vaping, mesh coils are unique because the actual metal wrapped around the cotton inside has a sort of lattice structure (as opposed to a simple spiral, as in standard coils), which offers more surface area overall.
This greater surface area means that the coil can generate more heat more evenly, which results in more vapour and flavour in every puff.
Elf Bar then doubles that with their fantastic dual mesh coils, which doubles the already increased surface area to deliver much more flavourful puffs.

Suffice to say that my Blue Ice Pop nic salt gave me the most unsuspected and intense brain freeze when I took my first puff—vapers beware. The flavour is intense in the best way!
As for the fill port, I prefer the clamshell top-fill pods with the snap-off mouthpieces over these silicone plug refill ports, but the ELFX pods are really simple to use and refill. They take a few more seconds to refill than clamshell pods, but the fill port on these really didn’t bother me.
As with all MTL vapes, the pods for this device are compatible with high-PG E-Liquids (anything with a 50:50 ratio of PG to VG, essentially). This includes all nicotine salts and freebase 10ml E-Liquids.
Overall, I’m a huge fan of these pods!
Vaping the Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition is pretty simple. Fill your new, empty pod and let it sit for about 5 minutes to prime the coil, then turn the device on by pressing the function button 5 times quickly.
The device will automatically sense which pod you’re using and set the wattage accordingly, and you can swap between Eco mode, which preserves battery and produces less vapour, and Turbo Mode, which consumes more battery and generates more flavour and vapour.
From here, it’s pretty smooth sailing. The flavour is incredible from the QUAQ dual mesh coil, and the operation is really seamless. I keep my fire button locked (which you can do by pressing the function button 3 times) because I only use the auto-draw function.
All in all, I’ve had no hiccups so far, and operation has been pretty flawless. It’s very quick to fire, and I’ve experienced no leaking, spitback, coil flooding, or any issues of that nature.
It seems like this device was designed to cater to vapers of all experience levels, but in reality, it mainly suits intermediate vapers who know their way around a settings menu and screen. Intermediate vapers who want more customisation options than a cheap, standard inhale-activated pod vape will love the ELFX Pro Classic Edition.
I wouldn’t really recommend this vape to brand-new users, or even users switching over from disposables; there are cheaper, less settings-intensive vapes to try before you start messing with menus and interfaces. If you're a new vaper, why not try the original Elf Bar ELFX first?
With that being said, if this isn’t your first rodeo, this vape is a delight. While I find some aspects of the interface confusing, this won’t be an issue for your average semi-regular vaper—and the flavour this vape generates really makes up for any niggling issues I may have with the settings.
Given that vaping is becoming popular among older smokers who may have impaired vision or dexterity issues, I try to cover accessibility on all of my vape kit reviews.
With that being said, I wouldn’t recommend the Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic if you need an accessible vape. The information on the screen is too small to read even for those with good vision, and the refill port would be difficult to access for those who have problems with dexterity (due to conditions like arthritis).
The original Elf Bar ELFX is a much more accessible vape, in my opinion, with no screen and no settings whatsoever. While the refill port is the same on the ELFX (since the two vapes use the same pods), it’s an easier kit to operate overall.

Overall Rating: 4.11 stars
Fans of Elf Bar disposables who know their way around a vape menu screen will love the Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition.
While there are of course some issues with the interface and settings, this is Elf Bar’s first attempt—and I expect future iterations to be more fine-tuned and streamlined following feedback from vapers on this specific kit.
My biggest question remains: what is the purpose of those 4 tiny holes on the bottom of the vape?

Regardless, if you’re looking for a vape kit with settings and a stunning vegan leather grip, look no further. I can promise that the finish—and of course the flavour production—of the Elf Bar ELFX Pro Classic Edition won’t disappoint. I had a great time with this kit.
